What I’ve been up to over the last six weeks

Other than work that is!

During some of my spare time, I’ve been learning a new skill – counting WeightWatcher propoints. Those that care about me, know how much of a challenge this is for me – not that I can’t count, but for personal reasons I don’t like to count anything related to food.

In for a penny, in for a pound I thought. So over the last six weeks I’ve given it my all, and it;s been a success – I’ve lost 18lbs. That’s the biggest weight loss I’ve had since I started dieting four years ago.

Now, propoints values are closely linked to the calorific value of food. The dieter gets given a daily points allowance (based on height and body weight) and an additional weekly allowance. Additional points, called activity points, can be “earned” by exercising. Daily points have a lower calorific value than activity points creating a calorie deficit if you decide to use your activity points.

  2. Carbo chuffed to see you are still with us. Congratulations on the weight loss, 18lbs in six weeks is some achievement, I hope it keeps working for you. Regarding your comment  “but for personal reasons I don’t like to count anything related to food” write your thoughts on a sheet of A4 then place them in a bio-degradable box and chuck it the river Seven, not far for you to go. Let it go man.

    Regards Eddie

    2. Oh yes, and watching Edie pick on anyone and everyone who dare criticise anyone he worships.

  5. Edie cannot debate, never could as his brain does not work.
He thinks he is with the big boys now and is trying to ridicule Evelyn. It wasn't long ago that he admitted her posts were too involved for him to comprehend. He really is a joke.

As for the latest project. It might be just me but I find it interesting that the author of the blog lives in the UK. The blog profile suggests the US ( says she has lived in Dallas) so was surprised that she was from the UK

Mar 12, 2013 – Certainly I know many of my patients were once victims of such .... Carole Sampson said... Yes ... Here in the UK we've had the sickest thing for years.

Just a feeling of deja vu......

What are the odds that they (whoever they are) will document Dr Harris's comments only a couple of months later in their comprehensive(sic) summary?

K Harris doesn't post anywhere much nowadays but managed this one in Feb of this year. Doesn't think much of the idea of diet (as on one of Jimmys podcasts curing cancer)
"And anyone claiming to have "beat" breast cancer after only two years is blowing smoke. Women diagnosed with early BC can EASILY live 5 years with minimal or even no treatment. BC is not cancer of the pancreas. This is just more dangerous hucksterism being promoted by Jimmy."
I also wonder what their thoughts are on this comment from Dr Harris.

And the cure for hyperinsulinemia in metabolic syndrome has nothing to do with CHO consumption directly and everything to do with energy balance. Eating less calories is the way to address it. No need to invoke or even speak of insulin as anything other than a marker for the metsyn, as the insulin is NOT CAUSING ANYTHING*, IT IS A SIGN OF THE PATHOLOGY YOU NEED TO FIX, WHICH IS CHRONIC ENERGY IMBALANCE......

Which brings us nicely back to watching those calories!
