ad ho·mi·nem [ad hom-uh-nuhm]1
adjective
1. appealing to one's prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one's intellect or reason.
2. attacking an opponent's character rather than answering his argument.
I understand the definition to mean that when I say "Edie, I think you're wrong because..." I am providing a reasoned argument to why I think he's wrong. When Edie says "I think you're wrong because you're a retard!"' he's lost the battle.
Update 3rd February 2012. I think today's blog post on the bog of bile says it all really, don't you?

The only war going on is inside ediots head...lol
ReplyDeleteYou cannot debate with an unreasonable, arrogant, self serving, blinkered person. Put him in a debating society on any topic under the sun and he would flounder.
ReplyDeleteIt is not even a war of words because his brain has not got the capacity to understand what it is all about.
But you do need to bar in mind that Eddie’s memory isn’t very good, come to think about it nor is Anne’s, Mary’s or Dr Jay’s either as not only does Eddie frequently repeat his posts, they seem to forgotten they’ve already replied to his post when he posted it the first, second even the 4th time around!! In fact Eddie’s delightful (not) Summer Fruit sponge has made an appearance 4 or 5 times and poor Anne keeps forgetting she’s already tried it!
ReplyDeleteThen you’ll have to take away the 60 personal/music posts away as they bare no relevance to diabetes at all, oh by the way 72 of Eddie’s posts are recipe or nutritional value of foods, was interesting how many comment these clocked up, 6 comments left on the humble mushroom alone… The highest comment score for a single post of Eddie’s is 30 comments a post concerning Ally which caused the rumpus over there… But leaving in all the reposted posts and their comments as straight single statistic is Eddie’s generates 2.3 comments per post posted on his blog..
Now Carbo’phil isn’t such a prolific blogger as Eddie, with a mere 114 posts, but saying that there are no repeat posts and only 2 of these could be classed as off subject… So an individual who likes to stick to the facts and not repeat themselves… But surprisingly these humble 114 posts have generated 1063 replies which give an impressive 9.53 comments per post…. So on statistics I think you can say Carbo’phil is the winner or winning the battles don’t you…
But you can tell a lot about individuals from their blogs, levels of intelligence, their beliefs, whether they are fair minded or even if they have mental health issues… And talking about mental health issues reading Eddie’s blog it leaves one with not only the knowledge that he’s a shear bully and it’s seems that not only does he suffer from self-delusions, but also has paranoia tendencies that everybody is out to get him, people on the internet, his GP/Health care professionals even the pharmaceuticals companies are all there attempting to kill him off slowly… Perhaps it’s time for Eddie to seek help from a qualified quack (shrink) rather than turn to his sidekick quack the dick err duck!
@anonymous 2. And the point of my post was...?
ReplyDeleteanon at 15.34. May I commend you for having the will power to go through all of edies posts, perhaps an afternoon nap would be in order to aid recovery? Those stats are almost as good as his dietary advice (which leaves a lot to be desired).
ReplyDelete@anonymous 3 I'm not sure any of my posts are off topic? But thanks for the praise
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 3
ReplyDeleteYep it took will power trailing through Eddie’s dribble and pretty brain numbing so much I forgot to actually put in his post details, which were 750 posts (already mentioned) and a grand total of 1723 comments which gave him the average of 2.3 comments per post… Oh just a nit pick here, Eddie claims thousands of posts which is slightly off the mark, to enable the 'S' to be added at the end of thousand, you'll have to have more than 2 thousand comments!
Nor did I have the will power to deduct all posts and comments that were either repeats, totally non-diabetic related or wasn’t actually attacking individuals… But did make a brief observation that these actually made up a very large portion of his blog…
@ Carbo
The two are your tomato plant, and the e-reader…..
Contributors to this blog remind of the ugly girls who sit in the dark around the edge of the dancefloor, too self-concious to dance themselves, and who are so wrapped up in jealousy and hatred that all they can do is snipe at those who do dance.
ReplyDeleteIf you think that the level of support given by people like the (all of a sudden) apparently evil Viv, Grazer and Borofergi, is somehow inadequate, why don't you just join in yourself, instead of sitting in the shadows and bitching?
You all seem to spend so much time worrying about what is happening at DUK, why don't you come along and change the culture that you hate so much.
Oh dear Eddie a bit foggy headed this morning
ReplyDelete“As I said on here yesterday, most of our posts and comments are offering links to sound information, peer revued scientific papers and simple recipes that result in weight loss or maintenance. The sort of foods that lead to safe BG numbers, safe lipids and nil/minimal medication. Let me give you a clue as to the quality of your blog. You recently posted a good recipe for pate, not one single comment, you also looked for a pat on the back because you can walk, three comments. Yet when you post an article encouraging your cronies to ridicule or humiliate good people, your comments section goes crazy. Says it all don’t you think. And you, and almost all of your commentors anonymous of course. Don’t forget I have offered to meet you twice.”
Just gone through your last 25 posts
13 post attacking individuals – 31 comments
2 posts blog links -7 comments
2 here say posts – 3 comments
1 research post – 2 comments
5 non-diabetic related post – 1 comment
1 post attacking the pharm company – 1 comment
1 newspaper article – 0 comments
Who would like to point out to Eddie that 52% of his posts and 69% of comment’s made are purely attacking and ridiculing people! But as I pointed out yesterday concerning my observation of Eddie’s blog, take any group of posts he’s made and you’ll get very similar statistical out come as above!
Ah, the good old Anonymous who are no different than a sock puppet called Ged, Anne, Mary, Hatti. Carbman, or fishingforsouls! But seems though ending a comment with a name is so important to Eddie’s I will from now on oblige the old cretin and sign my name at the end of the post just to legalise it for him….
Fred Ferkin
Feel better now Eddie?
@anonymous 8 exactly how do you show how much better you are than everyone else?
ReplyDeleteFuelling each others poisonous blogs doesn't prove anyones superiority. It's a bit like fighting the Second World war in Africa and Italy: a nice diversion for the fact that you can't take on the big boys, but frankly no-one at DUK gives a damn.
ReplyDeleteMost of them don't know who you, Eddie or Ken are, or anything about your ancient feuds.
Why don't you take the moral highground, and concentrate on doing some good for uneducated diabetics instead?
Anonymous 8.
ReplyDeleteBeauty is in the eye of the beholder. You may think that the girls on the outer ring are ugly but that is your opinion and just like backsides, we all have one.
How do you know whether we contribute or not? You may have already tried to put us in our place on DCUK because we post things that you scoff at.
I think Edie has lost it.
ReplyDeleteOne assumes he is trying to score points off of the dcuk.
His latest blog entery using a news article which is almost a year old, so there's a good possibility the gentleman is dead and buried by now.
mmmm I have also asked him twice to correct the entry about the tennis player who is on a gluten free diet - not a low carb diet - he has not read the article properly !
ReplyDeleteIt would be a shame if Edie did correct his mistakes as, his stupidity is there for all to see.
ReplyDeleteInteresting man Bob Krause, he has been on an insulin pump for 28 years (must be one of the first to have got one) Has an HbA1c between 6.4 and 6.7%, thinks it's not a good idea to aim for lower because of the dangers of hypos .
ReplyDeleteAcording to diabetes forcast he also eats bread with his breakfast and his salad includes beans. Wonder why Eddie hasn't published the extra information?
